MEET OUR PASTOR
Pastor Vincent L. Winfrey, Sr. is God’s visionary for Mount Olivet Baptist Church, located at 51 Stewart Avenue in Uniontown, Pennsylvania. Pastor Winfrey accepted God’s call to the ministry in 1992 after becoming licensed and ordained; he began serving as Pastor of Mount Olivet Baptist Church in January of 1993; He was born and raised in the Mount Olivet Baptist Church. Serving as a Sunday school teacher, trustee, a deacon before serving as the Pastor. Winfrey led as the pastor while he was the chairman of the Deacon Board for over 2 years; while the church was without a pastor. Through his consistent obedience in God, over the past 30 years has made him the anointed servant called by God. During these years, Pastor Winfrey’s uncompromising and bold teaching of God’s word has changed the lives of people both at Mount Olivet and around the community.
During his early years, Pastor Winfrey formed a Praise Team and developed an 8:00AM Service. Today, many people attend the 8:00AM service from all over Fayette County and the tri-state area. Source Children and Youth Ministry has also flourished under his leadership with a youth program all year round. His Men’s & Women’s Ministries are assets to the community. Pastor Winfrey birthed his own ministry called G.I. Ministries, which stands for God Is Ministries, Inc.
In 2022 Pastor Winfrey was awarded the NAACP Pastoral Excellence Award. He also has participated with the area children baseball and basketball leagues and loved coaching participating with the developmental stages of a boys’ basketball program. Strongly serving in his community, he is a part of the East End Ministerial Alliance and Uniontown Area Clergy. As a part of his mission field, he serves in the Youghiogheny Western Baptist Association, the PA Baptist State Convention, The PA Baptist State Congress and the National Baptist Convention, USA.
Currently retired, Winfrey worked as a welder for many years; along with serving as School Director for Uniontown Area School District for 8 years. In 2008, he became the 1st black ever elected to the Uniontown Area School Board in history. Also on November 4, 2017, the city of Uniontown made a proclamation for November 4th to be declared Rev. Vincent L. Winfrey, Sr Day. In addition to his list of jobs Pastor Winfrey was elected the 24th Moderator of the Youghiogheny Western Baptist Association in 2018. He currently serves on the Uniontown Public Library Board and on November 11, 2021, he was elected as councilmen for Uniontown City Council.
Pastor Winfrey has been married to the anointed Minister Marilyn Glenn Winfrey for the past 50 years. They are the proud parents of five children: Rev. Vincent Jr. and wife, Min. Natalie; Jason, Scott and wife Jill; Janelle and David and wife, Min. Brishonna. They also are rewarding grandparents of seventeen grandchildren who bring them much joy and contentment: Aleycia & husband, Paul, DraKKar, Dreher, DeAundre, Ayzia, Arielle, Keyarra, Alexia, Raymond Jr., Jayla, Bristal, Brenna, Londyn, Deion, Drew, Dawsyn and Drake. He also has six Great Grandchildren: Marley, Asher, Ariah, Audriana, Shiloh and Noa. They also serve as Spiritual Father and Mother of the Mount Olivet Baptist Church and surrogate parents for many other children in the community.
