OUR PASTOR

Pastor Vincent L. Winfrey, Sr.

Pastor Vincent L. Winfrey, Sr. serves as the visionary leader of Mount Olivet Baptist Church, located at 51 Stewart Avenue in Uniontown, Pennsylvania. After accepting God's call to ministry in 1992, he was licensed and ordained, beginning his pastoral service at Mount Olivet in January 1993.

Born and raised in Mount Olivet Baptist Church, Pastor Winfrey served in various capacities before becoming pastor, including Sunday school teacher, trustee, and deacon. He demonstrated his leadership by serving as chairman of the Deacon Board for over two years during the church's pastoral transition. Through his consistent obedience to God over the past 30 years, he has become an anointed servant whose uncompromising and bold teaching of God's Word has transformed lives both within Mount Olivet and throughout the community.

Under Pastor Winfrey's leadership, the church has experienced significant growth and development. He formed a Praise Team and established an 8:00 AM service that now draws attendees from across Fayette County and the tri-state area. Source Children and Youth Ministry has flourished with year-round programming, and the Men's and Women's Ministries serve as vital community assets. Pastor Winfrey also founded G.I. Ministries (God Is Ministries, Inc.).

In 2022, Pastor Winfrey received the NAACP Pastoral Excellence Award. He has been actively involved within the community children's baseball and basketball leagues, coaching and supporting youth development programs. He serves with the East End Ministerial Alliance, Uniontown Area Clergy, the Youghiogheny Western Baptist Association, the PA Baptist State Convention, the PA Baptist State Congress, and the National Baptist Convention, USA.

A retired welder, Pastor Winfrey served as School Director for Uniontown Area School District for eight years. In 2008, he became the first Black person ever elected to the Uniontown Area School Board. On November 4, 2017, the city of Uniontown proclaimed November 4th as Rev. Vincent L. Winfrey, Sr. Day. In 2018, he was elected the 24th Moderator of the Youghiogheny Western Baptist Association. He currently serves on the Uniontown Public Library Board and was elected to Uniontown City Council on November 11, 2021.

Pastor Winfrey has been married to Minister Marilyn Glenn Winfrey for 50 years. They are the proud parents of five children: Rev. Vincent Jr. (Min. Natalie), Jason, Scott (Jill), Janelle, and David (Min. Brishonna). They are blessed with seventeen grandchildren: Aleycia (Paul), DraKKar, Dreher, DeAundre, Ayzia, Arielle, Keyarra, Alexia, Raymond Jr., Jayla, Bristal, Brenna, Londyn, Deion, Drew, Dawsyn, and Drake; and six great-grandchildren: Marley, Asher, Ariah, Audriana, Shiloh, and Noa. Together, they serve as spiritual father and mother of Mount Olivet Baptist Church and as surrogate parents to many children in the community.
